7 Directors, 7 Mentors, 7 films, different interpretations, one theme- ‘Shor’
Mumbai,October 23rd 2016: Shor Se Shuruaat produced by Humaramovie- a curated film program with 7 top Indian Directors Mira Nair, Shyam Benegal, Zoya Akhtar, Sriram Raghavan, Nagesh Kukunoor,Homi Adajania and Imtiaz Ali,got together an omnibus presentation of 7 films based on the theme of Shor (noise). Shor se Shuruaat had its Red Carpet Premiere in JioMami Film Festival 2016 under the special event called Spotlight. The premiere took place at PVR Icon, Versova in the presence of Homi Adajania, Sriram Raghavan, Nagesh Kukunoor, Atul Kulkarni, Sakshi Tanwar, Suchitra Pillai, Siddharth Menon.
The film (around 130 minutes) is an anthology of seven short films directed by seven film makers-Rahul V. Chittella, Amira Bhargava, Annie Zaidi, Pratik Rajen Kothari, Supriya Sharma, Arunima Sharma& Satish Raj Kasereddi who were all handpicked by their respective mentors.
Though Shor se Shuruaat has a common theme of shor (noise), the differing interpretations that each director brings to the table reflects a unique voice! Each film suggests that these filmmakers will have a successful career in front of them, and Indian filmmaking has a bright future!
Recently the industry has seen an upsurge in the short film format and many film makers are choosing to do good content short films. Humaramoviehas produced more than 400 films and is leading the way, towards Indian consumers & Indian storytellers finding their own, unique voice and the founders Vinay Mishra, Preety Ali & Pallavi Rohatgi believe in working with new talent to create the films oftomorrow.
