(CRI) Chinese comedic actor Bao Bei'er has recently revealed his versatility by directing an ancient costume drama 'Happy Detective', or 'Huan Xi Mi Tan' in Chinese.
Bao Bei'er, already a well-known actor, received nominations at the Huabiao Awards for his role as Zhang Kai in the 2013 film 'So Young'.
In 'Happy Detective', Bao Bei'er combines his ability to act and direct. He plays the male lead of Niu Dabao. "After filming, I had to go to the studios and special effects company to monitor whether the lighting and color are proper for the drama," he talked about his experience.
'Happy Detective' will be available on youku.com this coming Monday.
