Former Jaguars linebacker Quentin Groves died this weekend at the age of 32, the team announced.
A first-team all-SEC star at Auburn, Groves was taken by the Jags with the 52nd overall selection in the second round of the 2008 draft. Groves played two seasons in Jacksonville before making stops in Oakland, Arizona, Cleveland, Tennessee and Buffalo. He tallied 175 combined tackles, five forced fumbles and 9.5 sacks in seven seasons in the NFL.

"Quentin was an outstanding man, on and off the field," former teammate Marcedes Lewis said in a statement released by the Jaguars. "He made everyone around him better and always had a smile on his face. He pushed every day in practice and was a fierce competitor. I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to spend two seasons with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family on this incredibly sad day."
He is survived by his wife and two children.
