And it’s a wrap! Around 400 Animal Rights Activists attend the 4th edition of India for Animals


India’s largest gathering makes a successful Mumbai debut       
Mumbai, October 23 2016: Today marks the end of another successful edition for Indian for Animal conference. The event, which happens every two years, was held for the first time in Mumbai and witnessed participations from leading international and national activists.
The three day event that commenced on October 21st and concluded on October 23rdwas aimed at creating a
platform for activists and organizations to connect and dialogue about significant issues related to the animal protection industry. The event had a number of workshops around skill and strategy development to engage and empower animal activists and NGOs, along with an award ceremony to recognize the efforts made by them in the field of animal protection.
The conference saw participation from Vandana Shiva, Anand Grover, Bittu Sahgal, Animal Welfare Board of India (MoEF) and leading international and national activists of the animal protection sector.
Speaking on the event, Ms. Varda Mehrotra, Director, FIAPO, said “Indian Animal Forum was stated with the aim to achieve the goal of bringing together the animal protection industry and providing a platform where they could discusses issue and collaborate on strategies to protect animals. 
“With the forum we want to create an event that enables activists and organizations for the industry to come together and engage actively on animal protection issue. This year too we saw some fantastic discussions and debates around managing and running effective ABC programmes, fundraising for animals, improving adoption programmes, rescue and first-aid without a shelter, social media and internet activism, working with law enforcement and running local-campaigns”.
